Fund-Raising Dining at Chevy’s
Last Monday, we had over 40 people dine at Chevy’s with a coupon requesting that 25% of the dinner cost be donated to St. Stephen’s from Chevy’s!
We will keep you posted on our next “FUN & EASY” local restaurant fund-raising dining event.
Outreach Projects: Food for the Poor & Clothing for the Homeless
Clothing for the Homeless
We help approximately 2000 homeless per year. The Invision shelters run from Sunnyvale down to Gilroy. We collect clothing and cash. Jim Clancy buys new bulk underwear and socks. During Nov. 31 – March 31 bring your items to church anytime & drop them in the narthex and label them. We need clothing for both men and women, but we serve 90% men. Therefore, we are in need of more men clothing donations.
Food for the Poor
Jim Clancy started this program 5 years ago.
$25 will feed a family of 4 for 6 months.To donate, look for the jug in the back of the church with the “Food for the Poor” sign. The money is collected & counted monthly and given through our church treasurer to Food for the Poor.

Ordination of The Reverend Judi Sato
On January 18, 2011 St. Stephen’s was the site of a visit by Bishop Mary Gray-Reeves for the ordination to the priesthood of the Reverend Judi Sato. It was a spirit-filled, warm, exciting, musical, anointed evening.

2010 Hanging of the Greens
On 11/28/10, following the 10 am service, our Coffee Hour was held in the Worship Hall. People brought their favorite cookies to share, and Edy Unthank and Amy Corbus provided hot chocolate, hot cider, and coffee. Genie Lee brought a collection of great Christmas music. Rod, Andy, Dottie, and Larry led the effort to Hang the Greens around the church. Andy, Jordan and Janelle erected our Christmas tree. Enjoy this great photo album of the event.
Celebration Sunday 2010
97 people attended last Sunday’s service for the in-gathering of food items to St. Julie’s food pantry and snacks for our troops in Afghanistan; the donation of 2011 pledges; and a fantastic all-member pot-luck brunch.

Pet Blessing – 2010
What a fun event. We had 23 humans and 13 animals attend a wonderful celebration of St Francis Day. The weather was great. Judi Sato, Karen Cuffie, and Peggy Skinner provided a grand selection of outdoor seating under our oak tree, snacks for people and animals, and formal Certifications of Blessings for all of the pets.
